Claude S. Abernethy IV

Clay, a Catawba County native, enthusiastically returned to the Hickory area in 2022 and joined the firm. Clay’s practice focuses on non-profit, corporate and partnership tax, and estate planning law. Not only does Clay assist many clients with forming new businesses, but Clay has also been heavily involved in closing dozens of business transactions, including complex mergers and acquisitions. Prior to attending law school, Clay worked for The Vanguard Group in Charlotte as a financial advisor. When not practicing law, Clay enjoys baking, backpacking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and playing disc golf.
